Position Summary
The Operations and Facilities Coordinator ensures smooth operations at OurCommunity and maintains the buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure that workspaces, neighborhoods and the property are clean, safe and functional.
Job Responsibilities
- Research, plan, decide, observe, and evaluate all facility-related activities
- Serve as primary contact for all maintenance, repair, cleaning, lawn, and janitorial vendors and suppliers
- Maintain grounds and common areas, while ensuring supplies are restocked
- Perform hands-on basic repairs and maintenance, including minor plumbing (e.g., changing faucets)
- Troubleshoot basic electrical issues, repair doors, install signage, etc. and determine when it’s necessary to hire outside contractors for expertise
- Maintain the Operations calendar
- Prepare homes and buildings for occupancy, including configuring electronics, installing furniture, ensuring cleanliness, etc.
- Ensure code compliance and routine maintenance is scheduled and completed for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, septic, refrigeration, vehicles and equipment
- Ensure that all fire and safety equipment is properly inspected, maintained, and functional
- Ensure all property equipment and tools are properly maintained and functional.
- Manage the fleet of all OCF vehicles
- Maintain a log of all repair, maintenance, and improvements
- Provide end-to-end logistical support of meetings and events, including the preparation, setup, and storage of equipment and furniture pre and post events
- Maintain a clean and organized work space
- Transport Permanent Residents to regularly scheduled outings (e.g. weekly grocery runs)
- Pick up donations and once secured, ensure proper storage, documentation, and distribution of donated Resources for OurCommunity and/or its residents
Requirement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- 2 years’ experience overseeing maintenance and vendors
- 1 year experience in commercial building facility operations
- Uphold a close and growing relationship as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
- Legal right to work in the USA
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle report

- Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and verbally report facility concerns, issues, and projects
- Effective problem solving skills
- Flexible, resilient, and comfortable working in a busy, and at times, fluid or quick-changing environment
- Dependable, responsible, and timely in working assigned shifts and responsibilities
- Mature in decision-making and judgment; comfortable consulting with leadership and peers to find the best solutions
- Model a positive “team-player” attitude; highly motivated for our type of ministry work and for caring for others while taking ownership of the position as a self-starter
- Flexible, comfortable with change, and willing to help serve with excellence in various areas of the ministry as needed
- Ability to work with and learn a variety of technology, including software applications, and project management tools, including data entry into a maintenance tracking system
- Comfortable serving a diverse population; Ability to treat everyone with respect and dignity demonstrating compassion, humility, kindness, grace and mercy at all times
Preferred, but not Required
- Fluency in conversational Spanish
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, kneel, use hands and fingers, amid a moderate to loud environment
- Ability to work in uncomfortable temperature climates when necessary
