About the Role: The Elementary Director is responsible for all aspects of ministry for elementary-aged children at First Denton. From weekly programming to large community events, this leader will create engaging, gospel-centered environments where kids can grow in their faith. The Elementary Director also serves as a key member of our church’s Lead Ministry Team, helping to shape the broader direction of ministry at First Denton.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and oversee all Elementary Ministry Programming:
  • Sunday morning services (9:30 & 11:00 am)
  • Wednesday night program, Energize
  • Summer Vacation Bible School (VBS)
  • Summer overnight camp experience for older elementary-aged kids
• Recruit, equip, and encourage a strong team of volunteers
• Provide leadership for a team of several part-time staff members
• Plan and execute ministry events such as: Trunk or Treat, Movie Nights, Easter Fest, and other family-friendly outreach opportunities
• Develop and manage the annual elementary Children’s Ministry budget
• Host regular volunteer training events and foster a culture of growth, fun, and excellence
• Partner with parents, offering resources/events to support them in discipling their kids
• Serve on the Lead Ministry Team, participating in weekly meetings and strategy

What We’re Looking For

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (seminary training preferred)
• Prior experience in church ministry, with a strong background in children’s ministry
• Proven ability to lead teams - more of a leader and multiplier than a “doer”
• A deep passion for serving children and their families with the love of Christ
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• A creative, positive, and energetic spirit that helps kids and families feel loved
• Agreement with First Denton Statement of Faith and Baptist Faith and Message 2000

Requirement

Bachelor's Degree in related field (seminary training preferred)

Proven track record working with children in a ministry setting

Possess a "can do" attitude and a team-first approach

Able to fulfill the job requirements (full-time role)
